I'm Cade Lambert, an Operations Engineer

I have been in the IT industry for over 15 years. I have experience in a wide variety of systems and hardware. I've worn many hats in my career, from humble beginnings as a desktop support technician, fixing network printers and installing Microsoft Office, to my current role as an operations engineer where I develop automation systems that helps me better serve my customers through thoughtfully designed automation solutions.

I've worked in all sizes of organizations, from the biggest companies in the world, to small software companies, to contracting my services out to local clients, so I understand what it takes to provide the kind of customer support that builds strong client relationships and lasting business connections.

At BCBSSC, my role was that of a general systems administrator across multiple teams, starting with Windows/Intel administration and moving to Unix administration with a concentration on security compliance and remediation.

2012 - 2017

Deployment Engineer

IBM

At IBM, I was part of a Backup as a Service (BaaS) deployment team. My main duties included building backup environments from the ground up and transitioning these environments to production support.

2017 - 2018

Application Support and Systems Administrator

At AT&T, I esd part of an application support team that was tasked with providing tier 2 support to over 100 internal AT&T applications used by AT&T employees and customers. Later, I transitioned to a Systems Administrator role where I maintained, installed and configured the systems that our applications run on. I worked closely with RedHat Linux, Docker, Postgres, MariaDB, and various other components that ran on our systems.

2018 - 2021

With Attain, I was part of a systems administration group that supported the infrastructure and applications of our customers. My team specifically handled the Linux servers and their applications. We performed maintenance and patching, application upgrades, new server deployments, decommissions, user management, OS configuration, hardware firmware updates, configuration management/automation, break/fix, and any other issues that arose.

At Varnish Software, I am part of a Managed Services team that maintains and improves the Varnish environments of our customers, including troubleshooting server and application issues, new application deployments, and developing automation to better server our Managed Services customers.
